At Bootleggers, we use a secure point-of-sale (POS) system to ensure smooth transactions and accurate billing. Here are the key details about how it works:
Opening and Closing Tabs:
When you open a tab at the bar, we swipe your card and return it to you. Card information saves in our system under the name on the card. You can close the tab at any point. Once the tab is closed, all info is deleted from our system and the transaction is completed.
Unclosed Tabs:
If you forget to close your tab by the end of the night, we close it for you with a standard 20% gratuity to the final amount. This is a standard process across the industry.
Declined or Locked Cards:
If your card is declined or locked when we attempt to close your tab, the unpaid balance will go into our collection list. Please ensure your card is active and has sufficient funds before opening a tab.
Can I leave my tab open all night?
Yes, to avoid credit card processing fees with each transaction, you can leave your tab open while enjoying your time at Bootleggers.
How can I prevent issues with my tab?
To ensure a seamless experience:
- Close your tab before leaving the bar.
- Verify that your card is active and has sufficient funds.
- Communicate with our staff if you have any questions or concerns about your tab.
Do you accept cash payments?
Yes, we accept both cash and card payments. If you prefer to pay in cash, you will save money by skipping credit card processing fees. Just let our staff know when settling your tab.

Why was I double charged?
- On some bank statements, the tip amount shows as a separate transaction.
- Once a card is closed, there is no way to add or double a transaction, as all info is gone.
- If you choose to close after each drink, keep in mind several transactions for the same day at Bootleggers will appear on your statement.
